What to Look For

Our featured churches are constantly scrolling by on the home page.  You can also click on either of the Featured Churches  icons on the site.  If you prefer you can go to the specific area you are looking for, you will normally find our featured churches in the area as well as a complete listing of all the Florida Keys Churches in the area.  Wherever we can we will also provide you with service times, website information and as much up to date contact information as available.

Choosing a Church That’s Right for You

The search for a church that’s right for you can often be a lengthy and frustrating experience. Florida Keys Churches is here to help simplify the process for you. The following is a list of questions and ideas to help you in your search for a church.

1. Do you have a particular denomination you are looking for?

Throughout the Keys you will find many denominations represented. There are Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Assembly of God, Church of Christ, Nazarene, Episcopal and more. There are also some fine non-denominational churches in the Florida Keys.

2. What beliefs are important to you?

This is a question that you need to get answered pretty quickly when you begin to attend a new church. Ask someone for the church’s Statement of Faith and see if they hold to the beliefs that are important to you.

3. What style of worship is important to you?

Do you enjoy a more casual and contemporary approach or something more formal and liturgical? Both of these types of services are available in Florida Keys Churches.

4. Do you like larger or smaller churches?

As in any area there are a wide range of smaller and larger churches here in the Florida Keys.

5. Do they offer ministries that interest you?

You need to find out what ministries the church offers. Do they have bible studies? Children’s programs? Youth Group? Check with the church to see what they offer.

6. Before you go you might want to contact the church.

It might be a good idea to either call or email the church before you go and ask any questions you might have. You should also see if the church has a website that might help to answer your questions.

As you look for a church remember there are no perfect churches. You do need to find a church where you feel like you are connecting with God, a place where people’s lives are being changed, and a place where you can have a sense of belonging and community. If you can find these things you have probably found the church for you.
